An after-the-post discovery: the most recent episode of Public Broadcasting’s NOW program included a very interesting segment on the plight faced by the nation of Kiribati due to the faster-than-expected rise in ocean levels due to global warming. In effect, it is being flooded out of existence - the first modern nation to experience such a situation. Both the television broadcast of the episode as well as the podcast can be found at http://www.pbs.org/now/shows/514/index.html#kiribati.
