Nature Blog Networking: Sing Sing Singapore pt 2

Back to the grindstone to finish up the last of the blogs from our focus of the fortnight, Singapore.  I don’t have much to say generally that wasn’t already said last week.  But how bout some more interesting facts about the tiny nation at the tip of the Malay peninsula?

Average relative humidity is 90%!    The Jurong Bird Park has the world’s largest Southeast Asian bird collection.  The name “Singapore” means lion-city, even though lions probably never lived there.

But enough about all that, let’s get to the meat.  The thrilling conclusion of our tour of Singapore nature blogs.

–=====–

- What is Manta’s Experience?  I don’t want to ruin it for you here, but it involves the experiences of a nature guide and amateur photographer.

- You can see a lot walking around, and Manoj Sugathan’s Wlog provides a unique perspective through the eyes of a payment industry insider, not to be confused with a pavement industry insider.  But of course, he gets off the concrete often as well.

- For an island nation surrounded by mangrove swamps, you’d be right to figure that water issues are pretty important in Singapore. Lucky for those concerned, there’s a blog just for them at Water Quality Monitoring in Singapore.

- Not just the water, but the health of the estuarine habitats depends a great deal on the health of the Seagrass.  Help keep the grass growing with Team Seagrass.

- The birds of Singapore get a lot of press from the Bird Ecology Study Group, bu there are other worthy flying things around that deserve a little love too.  Check out the island’s lovely leps at Butterflies of Singapore.

I hope you enjoyed our two week trip to Singapore.  If I forgot any, please let me know.

    Thanks for visting my wlog and thanks for the kind words.

    I am a “payment” industry insider. The economy is really bad, but I hope I do not end up as a “pavement” industry insider as you mentioned. Just kidding.. :)

    Oh man. Sorry, Manoj.

    I read payment and saw walker and my imagination took over… I’ll fix.
