Anyway, without further ado, the thrilling conclusion of “British Nature Blogs”!

- Covering the bug beat from across the pond is Blackbird from BugBlog, and if you think winter is a down time for insect observation, you’d be wrong. At least in Britain.
- If you’re in desperate need of a ranger, even a virtual ranger will do the trick. At The Ranger’s Blog, Matthew Chaffield ranges, of course, across Britain’s public spaces with camera and sense of humor in tow.
- Wildlife Photographic Journals has big, beautiful photos of birds from Britain and beyond. It’s seriously stunning stuff.
- Not to be completely outdone, St Margaret’s at Cliffe Photo Diary has some phenomenal photos of local birds as well. Enough to make you wonder if British naturalists are born with cameras in their hands.
- From Surrey, the Early Birder surveys his patch of green with, once again, beautiful photographs. Seriously, this is getting ridiculous.
- Not a photographer by trade, but certainly familiar with the graphic arts, Chrissy Marie presents her artwork at her blog, appropriately called The Art of Chrissy Marie.
- Any individual with a question about nature in the UK may find exactly what they’re looking for at the UK Nature blog, which covers lots of topics of natural interest.
- Ramblings of a Naturalist discovers the full spectrum of wildlife, from mammals to microbes from East Sussex.
- Also from East Sussex, and comprised primarily of reports from the Woodland Trust property, comes Brede High Woods. East Sussex must be a beautiful area to inspire so many nature bloggers.
- If you like your nature blogging with a side of astronomy, you’ll like Bishopthrope Nature, where birds aren’t thie only thing you can aim a scope at.
- From the Heart of Hertfordshire (Heartfordshire?) comes The Badger’s Eye, and he sees a lot there and in parts beyond.
- All these blogs are really great, but how many of them are working to re-introduce a previously extirpated species? None except the Great Bustard Group Blog, I figure. So go on, check it out. You don’t have to be a bustard about it.

As far as I know, that closes the book on British nature blogs for now. Though it’s possible a sequel might be in the works depending on the box office revenues from this one.
Next week? How bout a return to Marine blogs? It’s a category that has grown precipitously since the NBN’s inception. It’s time to look back.
If you’d like to be included, please let me know at naswick (at) gmail (dot) com.
Til next week!
