It’s been nearly a month since Debby and Mike came up from their storm cellar to find their world turned upside down. (Oklahoma tornado destroys home of NBN member Debby Kaspari) and the magnitude of their loss is still being assessed.

For those of you who don’t know Debby, she’s a blogger and artist, living in Oklahoma. She was the Nature Blog Network Featured Blog on April 6, 2009. Julie Zickefoose posted an appreciation of Debby and her art, as only one artist can do for another, on her blog earlier this week (Meet Debby Kaspari) and followed two days later with a portrait in words and pictures of the now-lost home and yard (An Oklahoma Eden).

Today, Julie is featuring an opportunity to help the Kasparis on her blog with a post (May 10 Tornado) that shares the aftermath of the storm and announces the launch of a fund-raising appeal via a button on her blog.

Take a look, and donate if and as much as is appropriate for you. If every NBN member gave a dollar, we’d have more than $1000. Of course, not everyone can help right now, but if half our members gave $5, we’d raise even more to help a colleague rebuild her home. You can also help by posting a link to Julie’s posts, or to this one, on your blogs, twitter, facebook, and other social networks to help marshal some assistance for the Kasparis.
