		<description>I&#039;d always assumed that the use of the &lt;i&gt;social&lt;/i&gt; modifier was to distinguish it from computer networks. Since so much of what we call social networking had its origins and underpinnings in the tech world, this distinction is not trivial. So no, not all networking is social, especially when geeks are involved.</description>
