Many of you know me as Wren or Wrenaissance Woman from my blog Wrenaissance Reflections, my Flickr photos, Twitter, or the memes SkyWatch and MyWorld. I, in turn, know many of you from your blogs, photos, and comments.
When I’m not blogging, I work as a librarian at a large research university in the Midwest United States. I’m happily married to Mr Wren, a man who has the same odd sense of humor and love of animals that I do, reads as much as I, and can be counted on to share his chocolate with me. We recently moved from the Washington, DC, suburbs, and often travel back there to visit family and friends.
I first became interested in birds and nature in 1995, when Mr Wren and I got married and bought a house. I put up a bird feeder, and then another one, and then … well, the rest, as we say, is history.
I first started using computers back in the dark ages before the Internet was commonplace. I hung out on local dial-up bulletin boards and have many friends as well as a husband – yes, we met online – that date from that time. That and the nature of my work as a librarian are the basis of my interest in computers and networks as facilitators of communities and communication.
It’s that interest in building community that led me to the Nature Blog Network, to conversations with Mike, and to the NBN blog team. I’m looking forward to learning, talking, and building our network. Thanks for joining us!

Fun to know more about you — I, too, started using the Internet in the dark ages. It’s fun to think about how things have changed.
I’m a new blogger myself … your perspective on its evolution is a reminder how far its all come, … and why we shouldn’t take it for granted.
Liza – I would never have predicted the current blogosphere, or my participation in it. Just goes to show, I guess
Robert – welcome to the world of blogging. I hope you’ll continue to enjoy it, and that we’ll learn some stuff together as the NBN Blog grows.
