Good of the Order: NBN Flickr Group

As most bloggers discover in the course of their blog’s development, textual narrative is all well and good but if you really want to drive your visitation rates up, it’s hard to go wrong with the addition of a few photos. Ideally, these photos should be good, or at least bad in a creative way, but so long as the subject matter is interesting and fits the blogs overall aesthetic photos are an outstanding way to add depth to your posts.

In an effort not only to encourage more bloggers to add images to their posts but to strengthen the social web of the Nature Blog Network as a whole and allow for some good, old fashioned show and tell, we’ve established the Nature Blog Network Flickr group. For those who already use Flickr, simply follow the link, join the group, and add some of your work to the pool. For those not yet registered with Flickr, it’s free to use (up to a point – but that point takes quite a while to reach unless you are uploading hundreds and hundreds of images) and offers a great way to discover some terrific photography as well as share your own.

As we’d really like the Nature Blog Network Flickr group to help members of the community get to know one another, we heartily encourage commenting on the photos in the pool (remember to keep the criticism constructive please). I’ve already been busily uploading some of my favorite images to the group, as have some of the other early members. We’ve really got some talented photographers amongst us.
