Not so very long ago, one of our member bloggers described the Nature Blog Network as the place where “all the cool kids hang out.” Needless to say, the entire Nature Blog Network Blog team was overjoyed – not only because it was meant and accepted as a compliment, but more importantly because it was quite likely the first time in any of our respective lives that any of us had been referred to as the “cool kids.” And if our egos were not sufficiently stoked and most of our long smoldering high school neuroses alleviated by that, a new member to the network, Cryptozoology Online: Still on the Track, has heaped yet more praise upon us, proclaiming us “somewhat prestigious.”
In all sincerity, we are truly gladdened to learn of both of these references, for as we are seeking primarily to build a community of nature bloggers that is more than simply a list or a basic directory, it shows that Nature Blog Network members are embracing the idea of “belonging” to the network in a manner that goes beyond simply having their respective sites listed. Now if you’ll excuse me, I have to go do something somewhat cool.
