Good of the Order – 2008 Xmas Tree Bird Count

While we know that many members of the Nature Blog Network either plan to participate in the 109th annual Christmas Bird Count (or in some cases have already done so – you eager beavers, you!), the Nature Blog Network Blog team thought you might like an opportunity to participate in another holiday bird count that doesn’t require you to get up early, spend the day living on baloney sandwiches and thermos coffee, or freeze your tuchas off: The 2008 Xmas Tree Bird Count.

Brought to our attention by Elizabeth of The Bufflehead Birder, the procedure to be followed in this count is quite simple – “photograph any holiday ornament bird that could attach to an evergreen tree via wire, string, hooks, or clips” – then send the image or images to Elizabeth to be published on her blog by December 25th, 2008. There are a few more details on The Bufflehead Birder blog so you should really visit it before sending any images.

Remember, the 2008 Xmas Tree Bird Count is strictly for fun and merriment – so no wagering please.
