Are you enjoying the hot, humid, lazy days of late summer? I am. I’ve just dropped a dear friend at the airport after her delightful visit, and then visited the newest local nature preserve, just opened two weeks ago.
On the other hand, it’s not all fun and games, photos and lighthearted nature posts, this time of year. It’s also the time for closure, cleanup, and contemplation.
As Mike posted in July, we’re going to delete blogs from the network which don’t show the NBN badge. New members will have two weeks after joining to add the badge. We’re in the process now of going through the list and verifying everyone is showing the network colors, that the links are good, and that there’s still a nature blog at the other end of the URL. We’re finding some duplicate entries and removing those as well. This is still in progress–I think about half of the inactive blogs have been removed at this point, the rest are still being reviewed.
It’s possible we’ll accidentally delete a blog or two by mistake. If this happens to you, please don’t take it personally. You know we love you! Yes, you’ll have to rejoin, but as long as you show the badge on your blog, we’ll welcome you back with open arms.
We’re still adding to the map and the calendar, so send us your city/state/URL/blog name for the map, and your events and announcements for the Community Bulletin Board and Calendar. Tell us what you’d like to see here – I’m always looking for recommendations for the featured blogs. What tips and tricks for blogging would you like us share with you? Who do you read for news, nature, and excitement that you’d like to share with your friends?
Waiting (and looking forward) to hear from you!
Best regards and happy blogging from Wren, Mike, Nate, and Seabrooke.
